this one's basicaly done, but yet to be finalized. i still think diego and sylvia have some wierd eq'ing going on.

I see now, these songs are about being at peace despite depression. Some tracks are deep in despair, while others still have that faint glimmer of hope. The songs exist in a state of refletive melancholy. Take a look. I was certainly at my most depressed during this period, as well as in an unhealthy relationship. I am happy to say it's over. Still, these were my best songs yet, and the glimpse into this stage of my life is painfully accurate.

From 'Diego' on Travis and Adam's Bellingham patio to getting dumped in downtown Chehalis, these songs are my mid-twenties.

Despite the lengthy compositions that marked this period, my favorite still may be the simple 'don't be afraid;' I remember I was cooking potatoes at Aaron's listening to King Crimson's 'Islands' --- the final track inspired me with hope and the image of "gulls on the fog." I wrote and finished recording all tracks for this song by the end of the day.
